Bruno Court, the 1930s modernist block by Burnet, Tait & Lorne, was inspired by Alvar Aalto’s Paimio Sanatorium and is one of our favourites in Hackney. Having sold two apartments here, we had formed a relationship with a buyer who had missed out on one of them. At the same time, we were in conversation with the owners of this third apartment and suggested an off-market strategy. Once our buyer’s offer was accepted, the apartment was exchanged within four weeks and completed the following week, without ever coming to market.
