The husband and wife duo behind Chan and Eayrs – Zoe and Merlin – began working together after meeting as architecture students. The award-winning team’s much-celebrated interiors are distinctive both aesthetically and conceptually. Instead of designing around a client brief, Chan and Eayrs create each home from scratch with a holistic and unique approach. They live on-site throughout the project to get a feel for the space, architecture and light before they begin crafting and designing.

With total creative freedom, the pair take on the role of investor, developer, architect and interior designer, thoughtfully creating a home they love over a period of at least two years. To fully dedicate themselves to each project, they consciously work on only one project at a time. After the completion and sale of a home, the lengthy explorative design process begins again in a new setting.

Of the exceptional homes that Chan and Eayrs have already completed, The Beldi – a factory conversion in Shoreditch – might be the best-known and most publicised, with its striking green interiors and Moroccan influence.

Launched in 2011 by Scott Maddux and Jo leGleud, Maddux Creative is a sought-after interior design firm based in London. The designers’ outstanding work has featured in numerous respected print and online publications such as Elle Decoration, Architectural Digest and World of Interiors, they’re also featured as one of House and Garden magazine’s ‘Top 100’ recommended interiors practices.

The visionaries collaborate with clients, designers and artisans to create spaces that are “a celebration of colour and an intricate tapestry of form and texture”. Inspired by their passion for art, travel, craft, history and architecture, Maddux Creative have a distinct and confident aesthetic that celebrates unique design and expert craftsmanship. They guide and work closely with their clients in the UK and around the world to create imaginative, conceptual homes that meet their needs and exceed their expectations.

Archmongers is an award-winning architectural studio based in East London and founded by Margaret Bursa and Johan Hybschmann. The team have worked on several notable residential projects, these include creative updates within Brutalist icons the Barbican Estate and Trellick Tower, plus a modern and unexpected transformation of a Victorian townhouse. 

Known for their confident use of colour and interesting materials to achieve bold results, Archmongers offer a fully integrated interior design service that complements the overarching architectural concept​. They collaborate closely with clients and oversee every stage from design to on-site construction to completion. 

The practice’s designs are joyous to look at yet practical and built to last. They utilise hardwearing materials to create uplifting and playful spaces. Archmongers have been nominated for many prestigious awards including Don’t Move, Improve, Dezeen and AJ Small Projects.

Based in Shoreditch and with offices in Los Angeles and Barcelona, progressive architectural and design studio Red Deer is “a herd of Architects, friends and designers” who create striking spaces that reflect their love of expression, travel and originality. Previous residential projects include a variety of creative London homes, plus an impressive commercial client list including Lina Stores, Smokestak, Bourne and Hollingsworth and Uniqlo.

Red Deer was founded by Lionel Real de Azúa, Ciarán O’Brien and Lucas Che Tizard who all worked together previously at an architectural practice in West London. A shared love of the unexpected informs their work and they set out with a desire to better engage with the world around them. The diverse team’s skillset also encompasses set design, prop and product design and teaching.

De Rosee Sa is an award-winning architecture and interior design studio based in London, Lisbon and Brussels. Founders Max de Rosee and Claire Sa guide an experienced team, fostering an holistic approach as the foundation to all the projects they undertake. The studio is defined by their strong sense of materiality and detailing, which steers them away from a ‘one size fits all’ signature aesthetic and allows them to maximise the potential of each project in turn.

De Rosee Sa’s imaginative design schemes span the residential, retail and community sectors. Their work across a broad range of projects means they have significant experience working with local planning departments and building contractors, as well as a thorough understanding of working with listed buildings and within conservation areas. They were recently listed as one of House & Garden Top 100 Interior Designers 2021 and featured on Homes & Gardens ‘The Hundred List’ 2019.

Founded in 2009 and based in central London, specialist design practice Robert Rhodes Architecture and Interiors have completed a selection of outstanding residential projects across London – from small-scale interventions to complex and ambitious renovations. 

The multi-award-winning studio has a particular focus on listed buildings, regeneration, interiors, and small-scale development, all with a goal to sustain “the beauty, usefulness and relevance of our built environment through conservation, restoration, and development”. 

With their commitment to the importance of conservation and regeneration, Robert Rhodes Architecture and Interiors transform old houses to create useful, practical and beautiful spaces. Director Robert Rhodes trained in the Bauhaus tradition and practised contemporary classicism – this thoughtful approach is evident in the studio’s exceptional attention to detail. 

Finkernagel Ross are a London and Hamburg based team creating bold and impactful architecture and interior design. They embrace every project as an opportunity to craft the unexpected from a unique and distinctive idea, making the result inherently bespoke and personal.

From the initial vision through to the finishing touches, they strive to use light to create impact, harness materials to do the unexpected and make the most of every detail to create something extraordinary. They relish injecting an element of adventure, drama or surprise. They reinforce design with colour, combining layers to create a rich and characterful style and mixing old with new. Tradition matters to them and they’re inspired by the way things have always been done, by the age-old craft of making and by enduring materials such as stone, steel and timber.

Found Associates is an architecture and interiors studio based in Soho, London. They have created work for a prestigious list of international clients, from private residences to global companies including Saks Fifth Avenue, Harrods and Selfridges. The practice is RIBA-award winning, and creates designs that are rooted in powerful simplicity, with attention to space, detail and quality of design. They have also developed an innovative collection of temporary shop fittings – Found Pop – which can be rented for easy assembly for pop-up stores.

Neil Dusheiko Architects is an architectural design studio based in Islington, North London. Established in 2011, the team works on small, carefully crafted projects that have a richness of detail. Their portfolio of well-designed residential and commercial projects includes the award winning Timber Fin House. Through the use of natural light and materials in their work, the practice creates buildings that are elegant and timeless, and contribute to their surroundings.

Founded in 2011 by James Hoy and Alan Drumm, Uncommon Projects is not a traditional joinery company. Their bespoke furniture is made from high-quality hardwood veneered plywood – all designed and crafted in London. Both men come from very different creative backgrounds – James studied Fine Art and worked in toy design and Alan spent 14 years as an architect, but it is these differences that come together to create their unique and distinct style – informed by an honest approach to materials, functionality and visual balance.

Tamzin Greenhill was born and educated in London and studied at the London School of Design, forming Tamzin Greenhill Designs in 2003. She prides herself on her style that is sophisticated, comfortable and timeless. Her work has taken her to projects in London, New York, Geneva and Los Angeles and she has designed for clients including Charles Finch, Eddie Spencer, Nat Rothchild, Ellie Shultzman and collaborated on homes for David Bowie and Claudia Schiffer.

McLaren.Excell are an award winning design-led architecture and interiors practice based in Central London. The practice is co-directed by Luke McLaren and Robert Excell, working primarily on private residential and commercial projects.

We love what we do and invest great energy in delivering projects which are beautifully conceived and finely crafted. We respond to our clients’ needs by designing projects in a very intimate and hands-on way, collaborating with people that we know and trust.

Established in 2010, the practice has taken on a diverse range of work in a short time, steadily building a reputation for producing buildings which have a calm authority and finely nuanced sense of place. Our studio has become a place of continual investigation into how we can develop our original ideas into a built reality and this process is driven by our genuine passion for good design.

Groves Natcheva Architects is a collaboration between Murray Groves and Adriana Natcheva, established in London in 2000. The studio offers services that encompass planning, architecture, interiors and furniture. The designs of the studio are site specific and focused on the individuality of each client. 

Caroline Legrand’s work is probably best described as “eclectic chic” but also embodies sophistication, glamour and an element of whimsy. She states her inspiration comes from constant research and a love of art and design, in all its shapes and expressions. Above all she sees the home as the ultimate expression of your true self. So it’s easy to see why we love her work.

Born in Belgium, Caroline left at 17 to study in the US and moved to the Netherlands after graduating. Fluent in six languages, Caroline has travelled extensively giving her designs a global perspective and giving her an appreciation of international art and architecture. Caroline works internationally and is based between London and LA.

YAM Studios is a London-based interior design studio specialising in contemporary interiors. With a material-led, architectural approach to their projects, and a love for the minimalist aesthetic, they create beautifully refined spaces for their clients. They work on residential new builds and refurbishments with the scope to cover all aspects of a project from space planning, lighting and materials specification to bathroom, kitchen and joinery design, furniture and accessory specification.

Thomas Griem holds a BA and a diploma in architecture, studying in Berlin and London, where he won the Hubert Sands Memorial Award. In 2011 he formed TG-Studio, an interior architecture practice offering tailored bespoke concepts and architectural services to commercial and residential clients in the UK and internationally. The Studio offers planning, new build and refurbishment architecture, interior design and decoration and product design. They work in the UK and internationally.

Nia has been designing residential spaces since 1997 and was a founding Director of both Studio Ohm and Cloud Design Studios. She established Nia Morris Studio in 2016 and it is now a busy practice based in London and the Cotswolds specialising in residential interior design. Nia and her team are great advocates of an eclectic approach – mixing vintage with new, a cool, linear interior with a big rococo statement piece, a monochrome colour scheme with a single splash of bright colour. This is not an “anything goes” approach but a carefully considered assessment of how pieces work together.  This is apparent from the end results which feel cohesive and deliberate and anything but random.

Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead are an interior design duo with big aspirations to change the face of interiors and push the boundaries of how we live in our homes. Design columnists and regular contributors to national press they are #makinglivinglovely one project at a time.

“Our shared love of design was clear from the start. We met as actors and when we joined forces our lives took a different direction. We bought our first home together, postcode ending 2LG and our friends came up with a business name that stuck. Gradually, design began to take over our lives and now we live and breathe it, believing that good design can change your life.”
